About

Kate is a qualified nurse who re-trained in horticulture and garden design, whilst she created her beautiful garden. Her horticultural endeavours then moved into her field where she started growing masses of cut flowers to sell.

Set up in 2014, Oh, What lovely Flowers! grows seasonal flowers without the use of chemicals, and only uses peat free compost to raise seedlings.

The aim is to encourage people to local British flowers. The flowers are seasonal, freshly picked to order and are beautifully scented.

Kate sells her flowers in eco-friendly wrapping, and the bouquets she creates are different every week as she is inspired by the ever-changing countryside.

Oh, What Lovely Flowers! was established in 2014. When my husband and I moved to Shropshire in 2007 we moved into a lovely house with an acre of garden with no plants at all. Whilst the seasoned gardener would be very excited by this prospect, I was somewhat daunted. Although I was enthusiastic, I knew I needed more knowledge and experience. I attended college where I studied horticulture and garden design. Wind forward six years and the enthusiasm had turned into a passion and a business. I turned my attention to an unloved field, which at the time was just grass and rabbits and transformed it into cutting beds to grow my own flowers.

The aim is to encourage people to local British flowers. The flowers are seasonal, freshly picked to order and are beautifully scented and reflect the beautiful Shropshire countryside that I love living in.

You don't often see me contemplating my garden with a glass of prosecco - but there should be the occasional moment just to sit and stare!!!
